Alexander Sokolov, Ph.D.
Director of Advanced Manufacturing
Dr. Alexander Sokolov is the Director of Advanced Manufacturing at Metamagnetics. He oversees Metamagnetics’ vertically integrated manufacturing operations – from raw powders to products shipped to the customers. Before assuming this role, he was a Principal and Senior Radiofrequency Engineer and co-authored numerous winning research and manufacturing proposals, including Metamagnetics’ first DARPA award as a prime contractor.
Alex’s career started at Northeastern University where he served in a variety of roles from a Research Assistant to Senior Research Scientist. His work was at the intersection of material science and electrical engineering, with a focus on epitaxial deposition techniques, and resulted in dozens of peer-reviewed publications and a book chapter on ferrite films.
Alex is an MBA candidate at Boston University and Northeastern University alumnus, holding PhD and M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Applied Physics and Mathematics. Outside of work, he is a pilot and enjoys golf.
